How to : Galaxy Choc Chip Cookies

Hello lovley's, now I'm not much of a chef but I can make a few basic things - such as cookies! So for (i imagine very few) of you here is my quick run by on a super simple recipe for super quick cookies!

You will need;
300g Caster Sugar
200g Butter
1 Egg
325g Self Raising Flour
1-2 Bars of Galaxy Chocolate

Firstly you add your sugar and butter together and mix until creamy - if your butter is a bit hard just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, just a few though else it will just be liquid!! This is my favourite bit, does anyone else think this combination is literally the tastiest thing ever?!

Then add your egg into the mixture - I was always told never to eat raw egg so after this point I never eat the cake batter, is anyone else like this? Loads of people I know eat it!

Add in the flour, a little bit at a time - the mixture does become quite hard to mix now if it's still quite runny you've gone wrong... but just add a bit more flour.

I simply broke up a bar of Galaxy Chocolate (my fave!) but you can use any chocolate you want - I'm thinking of trying those new Cadbury chocolates in this - mmm Daim Choc Chip Cookies ! I then cut each chunk into three, but if you want really chunky choc chips just chuck them in whole!

So the batter is now more like a dough, take a small handful, roll into a ball and pop onto a baking tray - I have covered my tray with baking paper just so they come off easier. The cookie balls can be any size you want, these are fairly small but make sure you leave plenty of space between them, this is why...

HUGE COOKIES!
As they cook the mixture melts down and leaves you with lovely, warm, gooey cookies!

If you want to make Double Choc Chip Cookies just add some Cocoa Powder into the flour.

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial... Mwahh!

A Day Out

Although my sister, niece and nephew only live down the road from me I rarely find time to spend with them working 9-5, 5 days a week so I took a day out of my schedule to spend entirely with them.

My sister and I were planning a lovely trip to the beach but as the weather has taken a rather dramatic turn in the opposite direction we settled for something that was slightly less needy of sunshine.

Park Hall Farm - this place is awesome! At first I thought it was going to be a stereotypical outing for 'city kids' to get a tiny taste of country life and being a country bumkin and wannabe shepherdess myself I thought it might be a bit boring - how wrong I was.

Firstly they had this quirky little 'driving school' for the kids (note: they have to be 3 or over) and it was really quite comical to see my five year old niece behind the wheel and in full control of a vehicle, no matter how small!

On the other hand my poor little munch was totally devastated when he couldn't have a go and did shed a few not so silent tears.

There is so much to do at this place it is perfect to keep the children occupied for a whole day, there's a little petting place with loads of different types of rabbits and guinea pigs. They can learn get up close and personal with two rather huge Clydesdale's and two lovely little Shetlands. In amongst a fabulous play area is a little cafe for Mum & Dad, where you can sit with a cuppa and watch the little ones from a safe distance.

Personally my favourite moment had to be the pig racing. Lucy and I both thought this was going to be fairly standard, a few pigs taking their time to stroll to the finish line - again how wrong we were.

You get to pick a coloured sticker, which of course allocates to a pig with a sprayed colour on their backs. As soon as the gate opened we all shouted 'GO' and these pigs literally raced down the track even over the jumps - it was really quite funny and the pigs seemed to enjoy it too (and the children of course)

All the tears earlier from Riley weren't totally in vain as he did get a go on something I wish I could have fitted my big adult bum into.

There were about 5-6 of these little barrels that were pulled along by a little tractor - totally cute although I was slightly worried Riley might jump out half way round!

They had a lovely opportunity to hand milk a beautiful Jersey cow, Leia actually managed to get some milk in the bucket and I don't think Riley entirely understood what he was doing - still super cute!

This place is a bargain for the amount you can do, perfect for the summer holidays - Park Hall Farm is located at Oswestry, and I cannot recommend it more, if I wrote about all the things you could do this blog post would be ten pages long!

Hope you enjoyed - what have you been up to these holidays?

OOTD #2

Here is my little bargain from my haul last week..

I must say I absolutely love this dress, it's so bold, bright & summery. It's light and floaty - although it's an awkward shape and difficult to disguise your bra underneath it, I'm sure you ladies know what I mean.
I paired it with a thin tan belt just to sinch in my waist and it was a little chilly out so I chucked on my cropped denim jacket (this also help with the undergarment issues) - this was also from H&M.

What's your perfect dress this summer?

Avon 3-in-1 Cleanser

Sometimes I feel a bad review is just as good as a good one..

..here's a bad one.

This here is the Avon 3-in-1 Cleanser, Toner & Moisturiser.
I can't remember how much I paid for this but I bought it and left it on the shelf for a while before trying it, but after deciding I needed to seriously re-evaluate my skincare products and routine I reached for this.

Containing two natural ingredients; aloe and ginger I thought it sounded quite nice, I must mention it doesn't smell like aloe or ginger, infact it smells like something quite similar to a toilet freshener.
I suppose I can't complain too much as the packaging doesn't actually claim to do anything nourishing to your skin as you would expect on a skincare product!

I used this product every morning and every night for about two weeks before I could tolerate it no longer - my skin is now 10 times worse than it was before I subjected it to this product. I broke out in acne big style and I do naturally have oily skin but nothing compared to this, my face was a grease pit - it was horrible!

Luckily I have seen the error in my ways and since stopped using this product and it will be finding itself in the rubbish pretty soon!

Sorry for posting such a negative review but I feel an honest opinion is what we all need!

What's the worst skincare product you have tried?

Weekend Buys

I had an accidental splurge at the weekend, I try and try to save but shopping always happens...

.. luckily it's just a small one!

Dress - H&M
Topsy Tails - H&M
Lint Roller - H&M
Sanctuary Spa Massage & Body Oil - Boots
Garnier Micellar Water - Boots

I love this dress, it's really bright - not my usual pick! It's floaty, light & bold, perfect for this summer. This was in the sale and I think it was about £5.00 - bargain!!

When I saw these Topsy Tails I just new I had to have them, they were a huge part in my childhood as my mum used them on me an my sisters pretty much everyday for school. I am so excited to see what new hairstyles I can create using these - tutorial post maybe?

Having a cat and one extremely fluffy dog I have been meaning to pick a lint roller up for ages but unfortunately the only time you remember is when your about to go out somewhere and you are covered in hair and fluff! These are about a pound from H&M so totally inexpensive and they come in loads of jazzy colours and patterns!!

Okay so I have caved and jumped on the clique bandwagon. Say hello to the millionth time the Garnier Micellar Water, my skin at the moment is horrendous and so I decided I needed a half decent cleanser or something and this product has been raved about so much and at £3.99 I couldn't argue.
Since my skin is so bad at the moment I am going to trial this product for a whole month taking photos as I go and give a good review at the end!

Just lately I have been having the worst backache ever and have been in desperate need of a good massage. Whilst in Boots I grabbed the Sanctuary Spa Massage and Body Oil and pretty much ran home to try it out (with the help of Tom of course). This stuff is amazing, it smells amazing, it feels amazing - all round amazing! Review to come!!

There have been a few slaps on the backs of my hands this weekend - I really had to curb the spending bug!!

Hope you enjoyed... Mwahh!
